Recognition Programs
The H&SA appreciates all the work of
our exemplary teachers, staff and administrators, and we
conduct several programs each year to express that
appreciation.
Annual Recognition Luncheon
Continuing a tradition that began in June
of 1958 with a tea honoring two retiring teachers, the
H&SA hosts an annual luncheon to recognize teachers,
staff and administrators who are celebrating either a
service anniversary or retiring from service to our school
district. Held immediately after our Annual Meeting at the
end of the school year, all members of the community are
urged to attend this very special luncheon.
Teacher Appreciation
Luncheons, breakfasts and other events
are held at each school to recognize our teachers. These
events are organized by the School Chairs and a committee
they designate.
Parents Appreciate Teachers (PATS)
This novel program expresses our
appreciation of teachers in unique and "secret" ways
throughout the year. Without being seen, the H&SA PATS
Chair may leave some delicious snacks in the teachers'
lounge, or little gifts on their chairs. They are small
tokens of our appreciation and thanks for a job well-done.
