One of the surest signs of spring for me is the number of walkers, bikers, and runners that suddenly appear on the Boulevard! It’s as if some of our Lakers have been hibernating, and are now rejoining the neighborhood.... There is much happening in the next months in our schools and community for you to enjoy. The H&SA will be hosting its last general meeting of this school year in May.... Thank you to the Board of Education members and administrators who gave their time that evening to be part of our panel and answer the many questions from the audience.

We are also busy planning the H&SA Annual Recognition Luncheon, scheduled for June 1 at the Mountain Lakes Club.... Please “save the date” and consider attending this very special event that honors retirees and those reaching milestone anniversaries in our district. Take a look at the names listed – I’m certain you’ll find individuals who have made an impact on you or your child.... Our Nominating Committee has published a slate of candidates for next year’s H&SA Board in The Bulletin. Thank you to Geri Lombardi and the committee for their tireless efforts in formulating this impressive list of can- didates. I would also like to extend my appreciation to the candidates for volunteering their time to help lead the efforts of the H&SA next year.

Wildwood is Looking Forward to Spring

Hope everyone is rested from our February Break and managed to escape any bad germs that were flying all around. As we look foward to spring, we are still seeking volunteers to help with all our great programs here at Wildwood. Don't be shy to share your talent or desire! We all want to thank Pam Schuckman, Beth Pickett and their Cultural Arts Committee for all the wonderful programs they have brought to school for our children to see. This is a large undertaking and they need more help for next year. We also need people to help with the new Wildwood Website for Volunteers, and the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon. SO STEP RIGHT UP and come have fun with us as we watch our children grow together.

It's a busy month of testing so have your children get plenty of sleep and eat well. Check with your homeroom moms, your teacher may be asking for healthy snacks during testing days.

March 16 is yet another POPCORN FIRDAY, so Pop on over and help Kathleen Holmberg or just say hi to your child.

I suppose that means that many of us are already looking forward to spring, which indeed arrives in the month of March. It also means that we are more than halfway through our school year, a sobering thought. There is much to be accomplished yet, and most families recognize that the spring rivals the fall in terms of level of activity.

The H&SA is committed to keeping you informed about the happenings and news in the schools and the community. The primary vehicle we use to accomplish this is The Bulletin, and I encourage you to read it carefully. I would like to ask you to pay special attention to Dr. Kazmark's message this month.... Please take a moment to ehlp us determine the most effective way to keep you "in the know!"

Our Nominating Committee, headed by Geri Lombardi, has been working hard to prepare a slate of candidates for the H&SA board for the 2007 - 2008 school year. We are always looking for volunteers to chair and co-chair one of the many committees that make Wildwood such a great place for our children. Please let either Allison Decker or Dawn Smith know if you would be interested in chairing a committee.

A huge thank you to Andrea Kuchinski and her dedicated group of volunteers that help in the library every week. They put all those great books are kids bring home back on the shelves so that someone else can enjoy them. If your child has ever needed assistance in finding a book when Mrs. Muka or Mrs Nicola were busy, you can be sure a library volunteer helped them to find it!

As we write this note, winter has not yet decided if it is actually coming to New Jersey this year but it always manages to arrive even if the Groundhog ways it isn't so.
