Who We Are

There are several committees that are established each year in order to perform specific functions on behalf of the H&SA. They are listed here.

Nominations

The Nominations Committee Chair is responsible each year for finding volunteers to fill each Board position. The Chair canvases the current Board, H&SA membership, and community members for prospective candidates. S/he contacts the candidates and explains the merits of the position for which they have been recommended. S/he must have the slate of candidates ready for publication in the May issue of The Bulletin and for a final vote at the Annual Meeting.

Social

The Social Chair is responsible for coordinating refreshments for the H&SA General Program Meetings and the Back-to-School Nights for the three schools. She also organizes the H&SA Annual Recognition Luncheon held at the end of the school year.

Book Festival Wildwood

The Book Festival Chair works with the school librarian to present the  Wildwood Book Festival, held annually in the fall.  The book festival offers a selection of new books and other educational materials supplied by a commercial book fair company.  The chair and her committee coordinate with the book fair company, publicize the event and recruit volunteers to set up, staff, and break down the book fair.  All profits from this event benefit the Wildwood School Library.

Book Festival Briarcliff

The Book Festival Chair works with the school librarian to present the Briarcliff Book Festival, held annually in the spring.  The book festival offers a selection of new books, including Mountain Lakes' summer reading books, supplied by a commercial book fair company.  The chair and her committee coordinate with the book fair company, publicize the event and recruit volunteers to set up, staff, and break down the book fair.  All profits from this event benefit the Briarcliff School Library.

Wildwood Cultural Arts

The Wildwood Cultural Arts Chair manages this program that brings inspiring performances and workshops to each grade of Wildwood. These programs enrich the curriculum with music, dance, performance art, creative writing, story telling and other art forms. For more about Cultural Arts click here.

Sunshine Wildwood

The Sunshine Chair expresses, usually with greeting cards, the congratulations or sympathies on behalf of the H&SA during significant events in the lives of school faculty, administration or staff. It is her job to establish a line of communication with the school's office staff to be informed when such events occur.

Joining a Committee

Committee Chair positions are filled each year with new and returning members.  The chairs welcome members on their committees at different points throughout the school year. If you are interested in serving on a H&SA Committee, please read the descriptions here and contact the committee chairs to learn more about it. Working on a committee is a great way to share your talent in an area that interests you.
